Hi. My name is Megan Mead, and I'm an art director, designer and speaker stationed in Austin, Texas. My educational background consists of a BFA in Communication Design with a double minor in Marketing and Theater, giving me a unique viewpoint as I straddle the worlds of performance and design. Sure, I love to peruse typography and finesse "S" curves with the best of them, but I also love any opportunity to step out from behind my mac and in front of a client or audience.
Pretty early on in my career I attributed these freak urges to my 10+ years of theatrical experiences and training. Ever since then, I have been extremely interested in how vocal, breath and acting exercises can supplement the careers and confidences of designers, developers, and anyone else interested in improving their presentation performance. And so, How NOT 2 Suck was born.
So far, I've had the pleasure of speaking at several conferences across Texas including SXSWi 2013 (twice), RISE Week Austin, and AIGA DFW Design: Big Week.
